Celebrating 65 Years of ‘Shamocracy’

Design & People protest the arrest of Aseem Trivedi over the so-called ‘anti-national’ cartoons he drew for his website. Aseem Trivedi is an India Against Corruption (IAC) activist who was arrested on September 8, 2012 by Mumbai police with a non-bailable arrest warrant issued against him. He was sent to police custody till September 16. This is the latest attack on Anna Hazare supporters by the ‘Underachievers’ of New Delhi and the members of the Gandhi family dynasty responsible for keeping India in poverty for the last 65 years. In a statement, Justice Markandey Katju, chairman of Press Council of India (PCI) maintained his opinion that arresting a cartoonist or any other person who has not committed a crime, is itself a crime under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as it is a wrongful arrest and wrongful confinement. He has also blamed corrupt cops and politicians who masterminded the arrest of the young cartoonist.

Design & People protest the act of politician-cop nexus by republishing the ‘controversial’ cartoon 65 times.
