A collective initiative of supporters of Periyar Riverkeeper have come forward to revive the river patrolling and water quality sampling - once again at Periyar, a river which continues to get polluted by 25-odd factories situated nearby. With the support the Friends have gathered for VJ Jose, popularly known as Periyar Riverkeeper, a wooden boat for patrolling was purchased and a Riverkeeper Action Circle was built for regular community interactions. The revival of river activities and the inauguration of Action Centre will be done by Cartoonist Yesudasan on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 4pm, behind my residence at Eloor Ferry. We request your presence on that day.
