Sri Lanka No More Democratic!

After crushing the Tamil struggle with the support of the Chinese and Russian governments, Sri Lanka has turned towards following the footpaths of Chinese and Myanmaran dictatorship by entrusting its police force to function as a mafia that could crush all opposition so that the government could impose stringent laws to keep the citizens silent.

Democracy has failed completely in the country. Human Rights violations are taking place at an increased level.

The recent incident reported in the suburbs of Colombo (Angulana near Ratmalana airport) where two youths were killed by the police after taking into custody. The citizens attacked the police station in the area and have demanded the government to give explanation. A media conference has called with regard to this. Another incident of this nature took place in Malabe, several kilometers away from Colombo where a young boy was attacked by the police in front of his mother. One could see that incidents of this nature could increase in the near future as the country is in the grip of the police and army.
